What was your very first job?
Bartender. It’s essentially human-layer packet switching managing requests and mitigating overflow.
If you could swap jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be?
Elon Musk. I’d appreciate the opportunity to stress-test his diversified holdings by seeing how many of them I could legally transfer to myself before COB.
If you had to give a TED Talk on something random, what would it be?
“Packet Loss and Loneliness: A psychological profile of a dropped SYN packet in a congested network.”
If you could invent one office perk, what would it be?
Full immersion VRs for troubleshooting. So we could add a much-needed kinetic element to our desk-bound roles.
What’s the most exciting part of your role at SysGroup?
Getting to learn something new regularly from some genuinely inspiring, knowledgeable and well-rounded people who are a lot of fun to be around.
When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?
Outside of work, I love spending quality time with family and friends, getting out on my mountain bike, and practising at the driving range.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (work or life)?
Use your brain or somebody else will do it for you.
