What was your very first job?
My first job was a paper round on the cold, windy streets of East Kilbride, character-building stuff!
If you could swap jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be?
Paul McCartney in the 60s.
If you had to give a TED Talk on something random, what would it be?
I studied as a sound engineer before I began my career in IT so I’d title mine
“The Reason Why Analog Recording Is Better Than Digital”.
What’s one thing you’re looking forward to learning here?
I’m really looking forward to expanding my knowledge and getting stuck into shaping the infrastructure here. There’s always something new to learn in IT, and I’m keen to pick up fresh ideas, and see how things can be changed for the better.
If you could invent one office perk, what would it be?
Pizza Wednesday.
What’s the most exciting part of your role at SysGroup?
The most exciting part about working at SysGroup is seeing an idea turn into something real. Being involved from concept to delivery and watching teams collaborate to create real improvements across the business is incredibly rewarding.
When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?
In my spare time I play in a band, collect records and spend time with friends & family as much as possible.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (work or life)?
You’ll never make everyone happy, so focus on what makes you happy.
