Cell Therapy Catapult was established as a centre of innovation and excellence in 2012, to create a world-leading cell therapy industry in the UK. Supported by the UK Government, their mission is to drive the growth of the industry by helping cell therapy organisations across the world translate early stage research into commercially viable therapies.

Challenge

Cell Therapy had no current systems in place or in use, and had all of their IT services provided via a software as a service solution. As the business outgrew the current infrastructure, a new Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model was required.

Solution

SysGroup proposed to create:

  • A dedicated, scalable and secure IaaS DELL environment
  • Full Disaster Recovery platform hosted in a separate data centre
  • Data centre conformed to Tier 3, ISO 27001 and N+1 standards
  • Dual internet connections and a pair of WatchGuard 5 series firewalls

  • Their own PaaS solution in place
  • Scalability to meet growth requirements over the next 3-5 years
  • Redundant platform for new cell therapy organisations globally
  • Resilient high bandwidth services up to 1,000 Mbps
