RMM Engineer

We are looking for an experienced RMM Engineer to help monitor and maintain internal/customer's IT systems.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be working as part of the Systems/RMM team, and will help to deliver professional services to customers and our internal systems using our N-Able N-central monitoring systems and other tools.

Candidates are expected to be capable of working under their own initiative and to collaborative engagement with their peers.

The Systems/RMM Engineer will help with customer onboarding request and general triage, and escalation of issues from our monitoring team/service desk.

Key Skills

  • You will be responsible for the triage of alerts and escalation to service owners.
  • Experience in working with the N-Able N-central monitoring platform is an advantage, but full training will be provided.
  • You will work closely with key team members to instil best practices.
  • Assisting the onboarding team with documentation updates.
  • Deployment of our managed anti-virus solutions.
  • Automation of Windows Patch management via monitoring tools.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of the monitoring platform.

A thorough understanding and significant experience of the following would be an advantage;

  • Network switching and routing infrastructure (particularly Cisco, HPE and Dell; mostly LAN)
  • Firewalls (WatchGuard, FortiGate, etc.)

Significant experience and expertise is expected in one or more of the following, with working knowledge of as many as possible being advantageous:

  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Networking (switching, routers, firewalls, load-balancers, WAFs)

It's expected (though not essential) that the successful candidate will hold one or more qualifications in appropriate technologies from one of the following organisations:

  • Microsoft Server Solutions
  • VMware vSphere
  • Firewall (WatchGuard, Fortinet)

Ideal candidates for our new roles will live within commuting distance of our recently refurbished Newport office which sits on the same campus as the Vantage Data Centre – a critical datacentre node in the digital operational capacity of western Europe and in which SysGroup hosts and manages significant infrastructure for a range of customers.
